Step 1: Read Pre-requirment

1. The following rooting process is compatible only with Lenovo K8 Note. Don’t try on any other model.
2. The battery level on your handset should be maintain to at least 60% to avoid unnecessary power-off between the rooting processes.
3. Backup all your data to a safe location in order to restore if any data loss occurs.

Step 2: Unlock Bootloader Lenovo K8 Note

1. Enabled USB debugging. To do so, Navigate to Settings -> About -> Software Information on your Lenovo K8 Note and tap on build number 7-8 times. Once you see a message saying “Your are now a developer” go back to Settings and you will see an option called Developer Options. Open developer options and enable USB debugging.
2. Download ADB & Fastboot Tool and unzip it.
3. Go to ADB folder and launch command window. To do so, press and hold the shift key and Mouse Right click anywhere in ADB & Fastboot Tool folder.
4. Now you need to connect the device with PC using a USB cable and giving the following command adb devices and hit enter to check connection your phone with PC.
5. Now giving the following command adb reboot bootloader and hit enter to reboot your phone into bootloader (fastboot) mode. If you see a pop up to allow USB Debugging on your phone, Click OK.
6. Now giving the following command fastboot oem unlock and hit enter. Say Yes to unlock bootloader and then it will some time format your data.
7. Now giving the following command fastboot reboot and hit enter to reboot your phone into system.
8. Finish. Reboot Your Device , you will see Orange Status bla bla bla Don’t panic Its normal thing now setup your device but do not restore backup yet

Step 3: Install TWRP Recovery on Lenovo K8 Note

1. Download TWRP Recovery for Lenovo K8 Note file on your PC and copy it to the ADB & Fastboot Tool folder. Make sure to rename it to recovery.img.
2. Download Magisk-v14.0.zip file and save on your device storage.
3. Go to ADB folder and launch command window. To do so, press and hold the shift key and Mouse Right click anywhere in ADB & Fastboot Tool folder.
4. Now you need to connect the device with PC using a USB cable and giving the following command adb devices and hit enter to check connection your phone with PC.
5. Now giving the following command adb reboot bootloader and hit enter to reboot your phone into bootloader (fastboot) mode.
6. Now giving the following command fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and hit enter to Flash TWRP Recovery.
7. Use “vol up + down + power button” to manually switch off you k8 note
8. After Switch Off Press & hold vol up + power button then select recovery by vol up & press vol down key to enter in recovery.
9. Now Wait for 30 Sec/ till phone vibrates, Then press power button + vol up simultaneously until you see twrp lock screen.
10. Just Cancel if It asks for Enter password to decrypt and Allow modification by swipe.
11. Finish. Next to root Lenovo K8 Note

Step 4: Root Lenovo K8 Note

1. On recovery mode, go to “Wipe” settings and perform “Format Data”.
2. Now from Recovery main menu, choose “Install’ and locate “Magisk-v14.0.zip” file which you have copied to device storage.
3. Swipe to start flashing SuperSU on your device. Once done, choose “Reboot” to boot your device into normal mode.
4. Reboot your phone to system.
5. Finish. You have successfully rooted Lenovo K8 Note and installed TWRP Recovery.

Step 5: Install Magisk Manager

1. Once you have booted into Android, install Magisk Manager v5.4.0 app from Play Store.
2. Once installed, open the app. Go to Settings and set superuser access to apps and adb.
3. For confirmation, do download and install an app called “Root Checker” on your device.
4. If you are rooted you will get an appropriate message.
